Garden of Eden

Wow! I can't even tell you how much fun I had last night at Garden of Eden! I have not been able to go raving in several weeks because of my health and finally getting to go out, kick ass and take 1,200+ pictures! I've SOOOOO missed it. I absolutely love going out and being able to take pictures of people. It makes so many people happy and there are an endless number of people that are thankful that we photographers are there to take pictures so that they don't have to worry about getting cameras in or taking pictures. They can have fun and hit us up when they spot us. It's good stuff!

I did end up getting to the party late, around 12:00 AM, but in the six hours that I was there I managed to get 1,223 pictures. I think that if I had been there at 9:00 PM when it had started I might have broken 1,500 pictures for sure and maybe, just maybe, I might have hit 1,800 pictures. When I start approaching that number I'm going to be limited to my second battery's life as well as my lame flash recycle time. One of the many reasons that I want to get my external flash, it will cut the flash recycle time down by quite a bit. It will consume more AA batteries but will lessen the load on my camera's battery. Still planning on getting the battery grip to upgrade my camera from one battery to two. I average about 800 pictures per battery charge, so two should be about 1,600 photos, however with it streamed two at a time it should take the picture count to around 2,000 per battery set. Now, when I add the external flash, which will lessen the camera battery consumption even more, so hopefully I'll be able to get around 3,000 pictures per dual battery charge.

To shorten everything up of what I just said, I'm hoping to be able to take 3,000 pictures before having to change batteries with a flash recycle time of no more then one second. It basically means that I can fire picture after picture after picture without stopping until I hit my 3,000th picture.
